VRVET Joins the 3rd Edition of Professionals of the Future in Lisbon

On 20 October 2026, the VRVET Project will participate in the 3rd edition of Professionals of the Future (POTF), organised by the European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF) in Lisbon, Portugal. Under the theme “Human-centric (Re)manufacturing in the Era of AI”, the event will bring together industry leaders, training providers, researchers, and policymakers to discuss how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies are shaping the future of manufacturing while keeping people at the centre of industrial transformation.

As an Erasmus+ project focused on enhancing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) training through Virtual Reality technologies, VRVET is proud to contribute to this important discussion on the future of vocational education and workforce development. The project demonstrates how immersive learning environments can support the acquisition of technical skills, improve learner engagement, and help prepare professionals for increasingly digital industrial environments.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to:
Explore innovative digital tools for training, including Virtual Reality and AI-powered learning solutions
Learn about VRVET’s approach to immersive NDT training and the use of virtual environments for practical skills development
Discuss the role of digital innovation in VET and lifelong learning
Discover how emerging technologies can support industrial transformation while maintaining a human-centric approach
Exchange experiences and best practices with experts from education, training, and industry sectors across Europe

The morning programme will feature an open session on the Strategic Importance of Human-AI Collaboration, followed by three interactive roundtables focused on:
Digital Tools for Training.
Remanufacturing & Industrial Transformation.
Human Centricity & Professional Growth.

These themes are strongly aligned with the objectives of the VRVET Project, which seeks to modernise vocational education by providing trainers and learners with innovative digital resources that improve accessibility, quality, and effectiveness of technical training. 【1-e8e784】

The afternoon session, entitled "People at the Centre of Industrial Transformation: Remanufacturing and Artificial Intelligence", will explore one of the key challenges facing the manufacturing sector today:

How can people remain at the centre of an industry transformed by AI and remanufacturing?
Through discussions, networking opportunities, and knowledge exchange, the event will highlight the importance of equipping professionals with the right combination of technical competencies, digital skills, and human-centred capabilities necessary to succeed in the factories of the future.

The VRVET consortium is pleased to be associated with this initiative and to showcase how Virtual Reality can contribute to the development of a highly skilled, adaptable, and future-ready workforce for the manufacturing sector.
